This program accepts written scholarly papers that were a part of an undergraduate class and earned a grade of A- or better. Many of you have completed research papers for a class, wrote a senior thesis, or completed a final report for your research mentor this year; since all these experiences have a class component, they all are eligible to be submitted to this program. You can submit work online and it is judged by a panel of Irish and International judges. The winners are brought to Ireland for a 3 day Global Summit networking event, published in our academic journal and recognized as the best in their field. We have 25 different categories for all students, but they fill up quickly.
Who they are
The Undergraduate Awards acknowledges excellence in undergraduate academia across all disciplines.
How it works
Students can submit papers online, making sure their name and university are not included in the document, and a panel of academics in each field anonymously assesses the work. They select the top 10% in each category, and from that, the winner. The Undergraduate Awards program is open to all penultimate and final year undergraduate students in a degree course, as well as those graduating in the current year, from all disciplines.
They invite students to enter both outstanding academic papers and research, as well as visual arts portfolios using online forms. For submission instructions and deadlines, visit the UA website. As an added incentive, after you complete your submission to The Undergraduate Awards, bring a copy of your confirmed submission to OSCAR (JC Room 246). We have a gift for you just for submitting! Please read more below about this terrific opportunity.
Why should I submit?
As a winner you will receive an exclusive invitation to the UA Global Summit in Dublin, Ireland, your work is published in our academic journal and you are recognized as the top student in your field. Shortlisted students are also recognized for their excellence, which can be a significant catalyst when pursuing further studies or your chosen career. Undergraduate Awards are also a great way to disseminate your research.
