NCUR2017 logoThe National Conference on Undergraduate Research showcases the best in undergraduate research, creative, and performing arts. NCUR will be held at the University of Memphis April 6-8, 2017. Abstracts are due December 2. Mason has provided transportation and lodging for all students who have been accepted to this prestigious conference in the past, and expect to be able to do that again in 2017.

CVPA Senior Art & Design Show


Art and Design 1001 – Fine Arts Gallery

George Mason University’s School of Art presents the Spring 2017 Senior Art+Design Show, an exhibition highlighting works produced by the graduating senior class who will graduate in May 2017. Included in the exhibition will be a presentation of work encompassing many different artistic disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, as well as, installation and new media.

Who: George Mason University’s School of Art Senior students, completing their degrees in art spring 2017.

What: Exhibition displaying the culminating work of George Mason University’s School of Art students, and a closing reception where you can enjoy complimentary refreshments, convenient parking, and the opportunity to meet the artists behind the projects!

The closing reception will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 6 p.m to 9p.m

Two very active mentors in our Undergraduate Research Scholars Program, Dr. Barney Bishop and Dr. Monique van Hoek, have been written about in The Economist for their work with antimicrobial peptides found in komodo dragons' blood in an attempt to defeat antibiotic resistant bacteria.
